«I am working on my final project: it's gonna be a sink for public places — restaurants, malls. The main question I keep being asked all the time is why I'm building a sink, as it seems to be a very trivial object.

Well, it won't be a usual sink. It is called to solve more complex, deeper emotional problems. I am personally not a very communicative person. When I'm at a meeting in a restaurant, sometimes I have to use the restroom just to take a deep breath.

Moreover, water has a calming effect and that is what I put particular emphasis on in my work. All in all, I am designing user experience, not an object.

First, the sink will have an unusual shape: people will come closer thinking that water will be pouring in the ground. But actually the water will be pulled down the drain. Plus, the sink is initially black. But when the water above 21C pours into it, the colour starts fading, so the sink is turning into white. The height of water is regulated by a pedal. So you’re not just controlling the water height; you are also in charge of the sink colour.

That is a moment for you to distract and relax. It;s like playing logic games or solving sudoku».
