«My project is the book called "The Village of Sweet Bananas". It is based on the narrative of an old Thailand myth.

According to this myth, many years ago people and spirits lived together in harmony. Then, spirits got into the habit of stealing eggs from villagers while people started to pilfer spirit’s cucumbers. That conflict caused a lot of problems to the neighbours and the spirits were expelled from the village. Spirits moved to the jungle and humans stayed in villages. Sacred gates were built on the borders of human settlements.

The ceramic figures that accompany the book, represent each of the main spirit characters.

The book and the ceramic collection are my exploration of the atmosphere of the imaginary world which is inhabited with different fictional spirits and idols».
