«This is a project with no definite beginning or ending. Each part of it is equally important. I confine myself to 10 photographs. Every time it's a different city: right now it's Berlin, but it's not that important. In most cases, a city defines my workflow: whether it's neat or not, which media I use, what materials and formats I opt for.
Here are the architectural photos with Berlin buildings, from which I "extract" all the forms. All in all, I got 27 of them. By combining various techniques and colours present in the photos, I get the result that is always 10-fold.
My previous work was a series of drawings of my height — 1,60m х 1m — devoted to Moscow. I used acryl, a very "heavy" material; this time I started with A4-sized paper and water colour, contradictive and light. I stress the idea that Berlin, being a big monumental city, can fit into small formats and spaces.
Therefore, small is big».
