shnit International Shortfilmfestival. Q&A session with a Swiss director Reto Caffi.
On October 7th, Moscow Film School expects a special guest, a Swiss director Reto Caffi. He arrives to Moscow as an invited member of the jury of shnit International Shortfilmfestival and will present his short movie On the line to the Russian audience.
Reto Caffi will talk to the MFS guests and students about interrelation and convergence of national and global cinema, the prospects of local cinematography and its perception by the viewers, the search for universal and topical issues, etc.
Reto Caffi is a director of Swiss descent and German cinematographic education. His short films were selected for the programmes of more than 300 festivals globally. He has received 80 international awards, including an Oscar nomination (On the line, 2009), a golden medal of Student Academy Awards, Grand Prix of Clermont-Ferrand festival, and others. Reto also films commercials, writes scripts for TV series, and he is about to start working on his first ever feature film. MORE
The first shnit International Shortfilmfestival took place in 2003 in Bern, Switzerland, and since then it is held annually in October. Over the past 13 years, shnit developed from a low-key festival into an international one, expanded into 8 venues all over the world, set up a number of workshops and discussion on cinema and became one of the largest short film festivals not only in Switzerland, but on a global scale. This year the Festival will feature a whole new programme and will be held in Moscow for the third time, on October 5-9th, at KARO Film October and Illusion cinemas. MORE
