DuPont, the global leader in innovations and R&D, MTS, a telecom provider, and industrial company Samcor chose the winner of a contest to design trading equipment ('island' structure) fr om innovative Corian material developed by DuPont.
Eight teams made up from BA (Hons) Product Design students took part in the contest. The participants, together with the supervisor Umberto Giraudo and tutors Stepan Pyanykh and Angus Colvin, went to Tula, wh ere Samcor factory is located. They had a chance to take a look at the production facilities and observe the processing of Corian material. The students could see with their own eyes the properties of the modern composite material invented by DuPont.
During the project, the School was visited by Pavel Titov, DuPont technical specialist, who hosted an exciting workshops for the students to demonstrate the legendary material. He inspired the participants of the contest to create outstanding projects. Eventually, representatives of DuPont, MTS and Samcor chose three winning teams during the final projects presentation.

The 'island' construction made of Dupont’s Corian material has already been produced in accordance with the winning design and will soon be installed by the contracting company.
