Bekmambetov made breakthrough work and had a siginificant impact on the Russian film industry with the release of his "Night Watch" and "Day Watch" films. He went on to become famous throughout the country with his film "Irony of Fate: continuation" and won the people's love with his film-almanac "Yolki." He was one of the first Russian film directors to begin making internationally distributed movies in Hollywood with international stars.
In his presentation, the director, producer and screenwriter Timur Bekmambetov will talk about trends in world cinema, will present his vision for the future of Russian cinema, as well as share his accumulated experience and talk about the creation of his new film "Ben-Hur" — one of the most anticipated releases in September.
The event will take place as a public talk — at the end of the lecture audience members will be able to ask questions to the director. The moderator of the lecture will be Vsevolod Korshunov — the programme leader of the course "Modern cinema and distribution" at the Moscow Film School.
The lecture will be held with the support of Central Partnership, the cinema network "Karo" and the Moscow Film School.
