World-famous fashion designer Slava Zaitsev visited the School to take a look at the final projects of BA (Hons) Fashion programme, to talk to the students and the tutors, and to experience this creative atmosphere that helps young designers create outstanding collections worthy of a fashion runway. Maestro of the Russian fashion design spoke to coordinator Clare Lopeman, who told him about the essence of the education programme, the participation of students in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, high-profile collaboration projects and international accomplishments of graduates. Slava Zaitsev examined the final works with genuine professional interest and highly praised the skills of the authors. Our graduate Anna Yefimkina presented him with her Clad in Dreams collection and explained her concept and various stages of items’ creation. Slava Zaitsev was invited by Alexandra Saukova, fashion technologist of the School, who used to work with the maestro. Alexandra has warm memories of the years she spent in the legendary Fashion House: «I think I drew my lucky chance when I ended up in Zaitsev Fashion House at the very beginning of my professional career, where I met most talented artists, technologists and garment designers. They were real enthusiasts and saw the House as their second home. I acquired all my knowledge and skill thanks to working in this place».

During a conversation with BHSAD representatives, an issue of global evolution of the Russian fashion industry that was made possible also due to the efforts of tutors and graduates of the School was also discussed. «I am highly impressed by what I saw today, because this is a major difference from what the Russian fashion industry was experiencing for a long time. The collections are outstanding, and this is not a stretch to say, from the viewpoint of both design and impeccable technical execution. It is great that our country gives birth to such talents. I would also like to note the unique creative atmosphere that gives inspiration and fosters development of young prodigies», said Slava Zaitsev, wishing the School further success and accomplishments.
