BHSAD STUDENTS TO PRESENT THEIR WORKS AT COSMOSCOW 2018 FAIR FOR THE FIRST TIME

This year, Vremena Goda (The Seasons) gallery partnered with the Cosmoscow Contemporary Art Fair for the first time, and it will showcase works by young artists at its stand.

Four projects for Cosmoscow were done by the students of BHSAD Modern Art programme and were carefully selected by the lead tutor of the course Mikhail Levin and the deputy director of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art Alexey Novoselov.

Uliana Grosheva will present her work that combines photos and video. The author reflects on the issue of voluntary slavery of a person in modern society.

An epigraph to the diptych of Olga Krylova on the struggle of a man with his fears was a quote from Chuck Palahniuk: “Find out what you're afraid of and go live there”.

An installation by Valeria Rysyukova allows you to “hear” the time, which in this work crosses a certain boundary between its visual reflection and reality.

Ekaterina Finkelstein’s project resulted from a study of psychological defense mechanisms, with repression being the most powerful of them. Using a specific soap-making technique, the author turned objects into coal-black spots frozen in motion, the equivalent of the unconscious, where the described psychological reaction takes place.

You can see these works at Cosmoscow fair from 7 to 9 September. Admission by ticket only.
