In December 2018 and January 2019, the British Higher School of Art and Design will host three free workshops for young specialists working in the fields of service design, fashion design and illustration.
This project is a joint initiative of the Cultural and Education section of the British Embassy in Moscow and the Universal University, part of which is the BHSAD. Two more workshops, one on computer games and one on the development and launch of TV series, will be held in February and March 2019 at Scream School and the Moscow Film School.
The guest experts from the UK will hold masterclasses. The list of tutors includes Andy Young, a consultant specializing in design, innovation and creative entrepreneurship; illustrator Emily Hughes; Lou Bones, Membership Manager at the Association for Illustrators; storytelling specialist for computer “sandbox” games Elliott Gresswell; and Peter Ansorge, Head of Short-term Programmes at the National Television and Film School, who worked as a scriptwriter on BBC and director of the TV-scripting department on Channel 4.
The workshops will include individual consultations as well as lectures and group practical parts. They will help the participants to work on their existing projects in more detail and receive feedback.
Participation in the workshops is free, but participants will be selected on competitive basis. Participants are also required to have good command of English (classes will be held in English). The duration of each workshop is 3 days.
Please note that registration and competitive selection are held at each workshop separately. The participants are selected based on application forms. Each workshop will have 25-30 participants.
* Registration for workshops on service design and fashion design has already begun. Registration for the January workshop on illustration will be announced at a later date.
