Liudmila Aliabieva

Russian Fashion Theory: the Journal of Dress, Body & Culture Editor-in-Chief (2006 present), editor of the book series Fashion Theory Journal Library, Lecturer in Critical and Cultural Studies at British Higher School of Art and Design (Moscow) and in fashion history at the Higher School of Economics (Fashion Consulting Group). She received her PhD in English philology at the Russian State University for the Humanities, Moscow (2002) and published her book The Literary Profession in Britain in 16-th-19th centuries (M.: New Literary Observer publishing house, 2004). She is an author of a number of articles in cultural studies including “How to Raise a Head of Household and Future Mother of Strong and Beautiful Children: Women and Sport in Victorian England” and «Coffee and the City, or ‘the daily pleasure furnished by the coffee house’». She’s now working on her new book on dress and reform.
