Zhanna Bobrakova

Russian contemporary artist. In her art practice Zhanna merges art with modern philosophy. She works across the concepts of replication, repetition, rhythm and simulation. A recent graduate of Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design in London with a degree of Masters of Arts in Photography (Course lead by Daniel Rubenstein - Chief Editor of Philosophy of Photography, London) Zhanna, as her course leader, reinvents the role and tasks of photography in the modern world and digital condition. Artist actively works with new medias. For example, her degree artwork My Name is Legion is the installation of 30 porcelain figurines (pregnant Army), occupying the gallery space. This work has been marked by public and selected by curators to participate in the Festival of Visual Arts in Soho, London in the summer of 2015. As a recognized photographer, Zhanna was one of the developers of the educational program Reach Out for the Tate Gallery in London, where she held her exhibition later. Currently, Zhanna continues to cooperate with the Tate, where she is engaged in mentoring program and teaching students of Central Saint Martins.
