MODI retail chain launched joint project with the BHSAD. Students and
graduates were asked to develop a concept for New Year prints and regular
collections of the company’s products. The store sells eye-catching goods for
sport and leisure, stylish items for office and kitchen, toys and learning games for
kids, accessories for mobile phones, party decorations, foodstuffs and a host of
other things.
Starting March 22 nd , anyone can cast their vote for the best designer concept
suggested by the School’s students. The contest will last till April 10 th and will
feature 40 young artists and designers. Some of them have submitted several
concepts. Works of all participants are displayed at the company’s website, where
the voting takes place. The winner will see their print on items of autumn-winter
MODI collection and will be awarded cash prize in the amount of 50,000 rubles.
MODI is known to engage famous artists and designers to the development of
their capsule collections, including people whose works are on display at the
leading galleries such as Saatchi Gallery and feature in professional exhibitions
such as Design Miami.
“We want to collaborate not only with famous people, but also with young
talents, who are naturally to be found in relevant universities,” explained Maksim
Kiryanov, company’s art director.
