This is my final diploma project for illustration course. The project is called "Dad's labours".
The idea of the project is to show how children interpret phrases they hear from adults and imagine their own stories about parents' work.
The language which people use at work includes different expressions not very common in everyday life and such expressions are not familiar to children at all so they invent their own meaning of such phrases.
Russian corporative vocabulary often contains foreign words which are just transliterated into Russian, like the word 'deadline' so a child can think his farther meets a 'big monster' when he hears expression 'to meet the deadline'.
The main character of the illustrations is a father who is seen by his child as a superhero. The father goes to work and completes heroic tasks by analogy to 12 labours of Hercules.
All the plots are built on the play on words in the Russian language and include phrases frequently used at the office.
