Chronic pain is a severe problem in the whole world. Spinal cord stimulation is a perfect alternative for drug treatment because it is adjustable and targeted pain relief. The number of people with implants increases every year in the world. According to the statistic, there are about 50 000 devices are implanted every year all around the world.
Usually, people have to use an additional device to control the installed implant. Unfortunately, the device may get lost, be broken or stolen. The alternative is a mobile phone with a specialized app, however, it can be hacked. Moreover, patients always should control themselves not to forget the remote controller somewhere. Rapid technological development allows designers to create more human-oriented devices for medicine and make it more invisible in routine life. The goal of the project is to suggest new interaction experience between patients and medical devices in the future. It is an attempt to make it more comfortable for users.
Thus, the implant and remote controller become a part of the human body. The patient interacts with the control console of the implant, which is located on human skin in the form of a conductive tattoo, using natural movements. Interaction with the conductive tattoo should be understandable for patients. Therefore, the picture of the tattoo is related to the remote controller of the implant.
