Moscow is a large city, which offers many different accommodation options. You can base your decision on surrounding infrastructure, the apartment itself, plus its cost and proximity to the city center. Rental costs in Moscow are usually lower than in major European cities.

Before signing an agreement with a private landlords or an agency, we strongly recommend that you to come to Moscow in person and make sure you are happy with the accommodation on offer. All questions related to buying furnishings, renovating, keeping pets and so on should be discussed with the landlord beforehand. Be prepared to pay an agency fee of 50% to 100% of the monthly rent, and provide a security deposit (bond) of up to 100% of a month’s rent upon signing a rental contract.
To help reduce costs, many students prefer to flat share. Not only does this help to save money, it is also a great opportunity to make new friends in Moscow.
