ALL OF THE SCHOOL’S INFORMATION AND EDUCATION RESOURCES ARE DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS WHO SPEAK BOTH RUSSIAN AND ENGLISH
One of the key advantages of the School’s British programmes is their international nature — in regards to both the student body, and teaching staff — which is comprised of leading international specialists. BHSAD is committed to fostering a comfortable environment for students from different countries — to provide them with more than just the best education; to create opportunities for productive communication and to maximize their employment opportunities.
All teaching and communication for the British undergraduate programmes, as well as for Foundation Art and Design, is conducted in English. In our preparatory programmes, students and tutors use English for training videos, briefs, homework, sketchbooks and presentations; Russian is frequently used for internal communication.
English knowledge is not mandatory for our longer term Russian programmes; however it is strongly recommended. English is the universal language of design and many topical publications and books have yet to be translated into Russian. English-language courses arm students with a vocabulary of terms used in creative industries.
Students study topics in English that are related to art and design, which are both useful for language studies and in helping their career development.
As well as grammar fundamentals and comprehensive theory, our experienced tutors give students the opportunity to practice their language skills to overcome language barriers and learn to communicate freely. As well as IELTS results, BHSAD accepts the following certificates:
If a prospective student does not have an official IELTS certificate but successfully passes all enrollment exams at BSHAD, they will need to independently obtain an IELTS certificate before commencing their undergraduate studies.
To help international students adapt to their new environment and get used to the language, the School offers Russian lessons. These provide students with fundamental language skills required for day-to- day interaction. Beginner Russian lessons will help foreigners communicate more easily with their fellow students and with people outside the School.
